- Early on, AEM gravitated to textiles by quiltmaking for family and friends. Her textile art today focuses on a more Modern style, utilizing environmentally friendly dyes, earth pigments, and threads to bring into being abstracts that are relatable. Improvisational stitching may complete a cloth’s story.
On a practical level, and as with all art movements, the current (21st) century need for sustainable utilization of disposable products has influenced AEM’s minimal waste practice.
