“Aura” #1 in the series “Footprints of St Louis”
“Aura” is a soulful piece reminiscent of a shroud buried with Indians in the Mounds along the Mississippi River. The Missisippians, Osage Indians and others resided here prior to European arrival. The mounds were places of celebration and Indian activities , rising along the river. As Western culture proliferated, the original Indian culture was buried. A plaque resides on a parking garage downtown as one of the only homages to these original St Louisans.
